*Kohli⭐, Bowlers Steer India to 5⃣-1⃣ Series Victory in ODI Series💥
India 206-2 (Kohli 129no) beat South Africa 204 (Thakur 4-52) by eight wickets
Virat Kohli slammed an unbeaten 129-run knock off 96 deliveries after a four-wicket haul from Shardul Thakur as India chased down 205 runs against South Africa with ease in 32.1 overs with eight wickets in hand in the sixth and final One-Day International in Centurion to complete a 5-1 series victory.
South Africa will be relieved to see the series coming to a conclusion as they were outplayed in all facets of the game except for the rain-hit fourth where they showed some resilience that has helped them prevent a whitewash.
The Proteas struggled throughout their innings after India invited them to bat first with only Khaya Zondo crossing a half-century. Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah were impressive with the new ball and with the rest of the bowling too chipping in the pressure on the home team’s batsmen were evident as they folded out to 204 runs in 46.5 overs.
Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma had rare failures when India came to chase with Lungi Ngidi snaring them both but Kohli looked fluent from ball one and raced to an 82-ball century extending his dominance in the series.
He plundered 19 boundaries and two sixes in his 96-ball brilliance as India completely outplayed the South African side chasing the target in just 32.1 overs with eight wickets in hand to end the series on a high.
